Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Cabana uses very few, and none for advertising or for following you across other sites. This page lists every one, and the single choice you have.
Cookies the site needs
These are strictly necessary: without them the assessment, checkout or your cookie choice would not work. They are not used for advertising or analytics, and they are set whatever you choose.
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
cabana_quizSet by Cabana | Remembers your place in the air quality assessment, so you can come back to it and go on to checkout. It holds a random ID and nothing else; your answers stay on our servers. It cannot be read by scripts in the page. | 30 days |
cabana_consentSet by Cabana | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected performance measurement, so we don’t ask again. | 12 months |
__stripe_mid, __stripe_sidSet by Stripe | Fraud prevention by Stripe, our payment processor. Set only on the checkout page and the page for updating your card, where Stripe’s payment form loads. Stripe may also set cookies on its own domains inside that form, for the same purpose. See Stripe’s cookie information. | 1 year and 30 minutes, in that order |
Google Fonts, which serves the site’s typefaces, sets no cookies. Your browser does fetch the fonts from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser details, as described in our privacy policy.
We do not store anything in your browser’s local storage or session storage.
Anonymous performance measurement
This is the one optional thing the site does, and it uses no cookie. As a page loads, your browser reports how quickly it appeared and responded (Google’s Core Web Vitals) to our own server. Each report holds the measurement, the page’s path, and a random number for that one page view. It holds nothing that identifies you, and your device is recorded only as phone, tablet or desktop. It is sent to no one else, is kept for about 30 days, and is used only to make the site faster.
It is on unless you turn it off. It stays off if you press Reject, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
Your choice
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept this measurement. Accept and Reject are equal choices, and the site works the same either way. Your answer is kept in the cabana_consent cookie for 12 months, after which we ask again. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings, at the foot of every page, or here:
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as your answer: measurement stays off, and we don’t show the banner. The signal takes priority over an earlier Accept. We also treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, which we do not do in any case.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block the cookies the site needs, the assessment and checkout will not work.
Changes
If we add a cookie, or anything that is not strictly necessary, we will update this page first, and ask you again before using anything that needs your consent.
